We are two biologists with 16 years combined experience of running field courses. We feel passionately that field courses can be the defining experience of starting a career in the natural sciences. Remembering the thrill of discovering species and habitats for oneself ‘in the wild’, creating experiments and collecting data, and working together with other individuals gives students a unique understanding of our world, society and our place in it.
